Aim and Objective of British Academy Visiting Fellowships Programme 2025
- Enhance and Build Links: Strengthen connections between global scholars and their UK counterparts.
- Foster Partnerships: Encourage the development of new and ongoing collaborative research in the humanities and social sciences.
- Support Research and Professional Development: Enable international academics to conduct research and professional development activities with UK colleagues.
- Strengthen UK Research Bases: Bolster the UK’s standing in the humanities and social sciences.
Eligibility Requirements for British Academy Visiting Fellowships Programme 2025
- Applicants must be at postdoctoral level or have equivalent research experience.
- Candidates should be based outside the UK at the time of application.
- Applicants on fixed-term contracts must ensure their contract does not end before the fellowship’s conclusion. Independent scholars are also eligible.
- Applicants must have established contact with a UK host institution before applying. The British Academy cannot facilitate this contact.
- Applications are particularly encouraged from historically and/or structurally disadvantaged groups, low-income countries, and female researchers.
Duration and Benefits
- Duration: Fellowships last between three and six months.
- Start Dates: Preferred start dates should fall between March and August 2025.
- Funding: Up to £40,000 is available per fellowship.
