A paid internship program for young people called NJFP seeks to reduce both underemployment and unemployment in Nigeria.

The alarming unemployment rate and the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are just two factors affecting graduates’ ability to find employment in the nation.

Statistics show that, up slightly from 32.5% in 2021, 33% of Nigerians are unemployed in 2022.

This suggests that one in three Nigerians are looking for job right now.

In Nigeria, most fresh graduates lack the necessary abilities to get employed in a modern world. This is why the Federal Government, the UNDP, European Union and other partners, are seeking to help reduce unemployment in Nigeria and provide the needed skills for Nigeria’s teaming youths with the launch of this programme.

According to statistics, about 25 million graduates nationwide are still unemployed. The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) strives to close this opportunity gap for young, talented Nigerians by connecting them to regional opportunities that will support their success as they launch their careers.
