Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship 2024

The 2024 Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship is now accepting applications, offering a comprehensive scholarship program designed to support young African graduates. This full-board scholarship covers various expenses, including tuition, research costs, living expenses, laptop, internship attachment, and entrepreneurship training.

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) in partnership with Mastercard Foundation and several other universities in Africa, is offering the Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship.

The Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) program seeks to strengthen universities and TVET institutions to better serve communities by skilling and empowering Africa’s young people and their institutions to drive inclusive, equitable and climate resilient transformation of agriculture and agrifood systems.

The program will support young African students that are economically disadvantaged but academically competent to enable them complete their studies.

Eligibility Requirements for Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship 2024

To be considered for the Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship 2024, you must:

• Be a national of Kenya and Uganda to benefit from the national respective scholarship quota
• Be a refugee residing in Uganda and Kenya to benefit from a regional quota
• Be from economically disadvantaged, marginalized communities, coming from conflict and post-conflict areas.
• Be less than 25 years for undergraduate and less than 30 years for masters studies at the time of application.
• Be 29 years and below for a refugee and persons with disability for undergraduate studies and 34 years and below for refugees and persons with disability for masters studies at the time of application.
• Should have completed secondary school and/or diploma for a Bachelors degree application not more than two years from the time of this call.
• The applicant should meet admission criteria to eligible programs in the university of choice (Egerton University or Gulu University).
• Demonstrate interest in agriculture, agribusiness and entrepreneurship
• Demonstrate leadership qualities and commitment to service of humanity

How to Apply for Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship 2024

To apply for the Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship, click on the apply button below to visit the scholarship webpage then fill out the online application and print it out to attach to your application for admission to the university of choice.

Follow the steps below:

• Access the Online RIMS Web Portal;
• Create your account by clicking on Register Here.
• An email will be sent to your valid email address to activate your account
• Login to the dashboard and select the Call ID : RU/2024/TAGDev-2.0/001
• Click Apply to start filling out the Application Form.
• Remember to save while filling out the form by “Clicking Save Draft”
• Download, print, and submit it with your application form for admission to the University of your choice.
• Depending on the University you are applying to, you may either submit the document in hard copy or simply attach it on the university online portal.
