This scholarship, dedicated to pioneering women in STEM, provides full tuition coverage, a monthly stipend of 12,000, and a travel grant of 15,000 for successful candidates.
The SI Scholarship Pioneering Women in STEM is an academic scholarship provided for full-time, one- or two-year, master’s studies in designated programmes in Sweden.

Eligibility Requirements for Swedish Institute Pioneering STEM Scholarship 2025
To be considered for the SI Scholarship Pioneering Women in STEM, you must:
- Be a female citizen of one of the 10 eligible countries (Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam).
- Follow the steps of University Admissions and be admitted to one of the eligible master’s programmes on the day of admissions announcements.
- The scholarship is available for designated master’s programmes in STEM, focusing on one or more core areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Benefits of Swedish Institute Pioneering STEM Scholarship 2025
- The SI scholarship Pioneering women in STEM is a competitive fully-funded scholarship that includes:
- Full tuition fee coverage. The fee is paid directly by SI to your Swedish university in the beginning of each semester.
- A monthly stipend of SEK 12,000 to cover your living expenses throughout the study period.
- A travel grant of SEK 15,000. This is a one-time payment and does not apply for students already living in Sweden.
- Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP) – a platform to help you grow professionally and build a network while in Sweden.
- After your scholarship period has ended, you become a member of the SI Alumni Network. As a member, you get a unique opportunity for continued networking and professional development.
How to Apply for Swedish Institute Pioneering STEM Scholarship 2025
To apply for the 2025 Swedish Institute Women in STEM Scholarship, interested candidates should;
- Select a master´s program.
- Please find the full list of eligible master’s programs for the academic year 2025/2026 here.
Apply through University Admissions
- Apply for the master’s program through universityadmissions.se.
- When you have applied for one, or more, of the designated master’s programs through University Admissions and fulfill all criteria, you are automatically considered for the scholarship.
- Let SI know you have applied
- Please, fill out this form to let us know that you have applied to a programme eligible for the SI Scholarship Pioneering women in STEM:

- Receive notifications from University Admissions and SI
- 27 March Receive notification from University Admissions regarding acceptance to the programme.
- 24 April Receive notification from the Swedish Institute regarding acceptance to the scholarship
