Vacant Positions
The VIEIP offers eight distinct positions, each focusing on critical areas such as macroeconomics, trade and investment, financial sector advisory, water programs, investment climate, energy and extractives, environment and climate, social sustainability, and digital development. Check the Annex for detailed descriptions of each position.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the internship, candidates must:
- Hold an undergraduate degree.
- Be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (master’s or PhD) at an Austrian university.
- Have plans to return to school full-time.
- Possess fluency in English.
The program has no nationality requirement and no age limit. Diversity is highly valued, and applications from individuals with diverse professional and academic backgrounds, particularly women, are encouraged.
How to Apply for World Bank Vienna PAID Internship Program Summer 2024
Applications are accepted via email from December 11 to February 9, 2024. The individual hiring units will review applications based on their business needs, shortlisting candidates for interviews. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted. Hiring decisions are expected to be finalized by the end of March 2024.
