The Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI)is an international leadership program that supports high-achieving students who lost one or both parents and are committed to returning to sub-Saharan Africa to contribute to the continent’s ongoing socio-economic progress.
Requirements:
- Have lost one or both parents.
- Are citizens of one of the 49 sub-Saharan countries.
- Have completed 3 years of high school with an excellent academic record, and consistently placed in the top 10% of their class.
- Do not have the means to attend university without external financial support.
- Are committed to return to sub-Saharan Africa and use their professional path to contribute to its socio-economic progress.
- Have no dependents.
- Have no health conditions that would prevent them from studying abroad successfully.
- Are able and willing to spend a gap year to complete the full-time Ashinaga Preparation Year curriculum.
