MTF Film Festival
The Multichoice Talent Factory hosts an annual film festival where the works of MTF graduates are showcased. This event provides a platform for young filmmakers to have their work seen by a wider audience and industry insiders.
MTF Academies
MTF Academies is a fully-funded, accredited training academy located in different regions of Africa like Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia. These academies offer a 12-month intensive program that covers various aspects of film and television production, including scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, and more. The MTF academies provide hands-on training and access to state-of-the-art equipment.
Launched in 2018, the MTF Academy has honed the skills of over 120 emerging filmmakers in 13 countries across the continent. The MTF Alumni class of 2022, within three months of graduating, saw sixty percent of its graduates already economically active in the television industry. MTF Academy is open to the application of all upcoming filmmakers with either some industry experience or a relevant post-school qualification in film production to hone their television and film production skills. Application for the MTF programme is always open around the second quarter of every year. MTF curriculum is designed to equip students with skill set needed to tell unique African stories. Students of MTF Academy will be given hands-on training in areas such as film directing, sound design, and the business of film, with workplace experience on Africa Magic and Super Sport top productions.
Students would also get enhanced training experience from the Academy’s partnerships, including the New York Film Academy (NYFA), the Henley Business School, Dolby, and Canon.
