Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship for Professional Women Journalist

Applications are invited from suitably qualified women professionals in journalism who wish to sharpen their skills as well as perform valuable research and coursework at MIT’s Center for International Studies and Journalism internships for the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship.

The Neuffer Fellowship is designed for women, nonbinary, or gender non-conforming journalists with at least three years of professional experience in journalism working in print, broadcast, or digital media, either as a staff journalist or as a freelancer.

Details About Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship 2022/2023

The Fellowship provides academic and professional opportunities to advance the reporting skills of women and nonbinary journalists who focus on human rights and social justice. The Fellowship was created in memory of The Boston Globe correspondent and IWMF Courage in Journalism Award (1998) winner Elizabeth Neuffer. In collaboration with Neuffer’s family and friends, the IWMF started the program to honor Neuffer’s legacy while advancing her work in the fields of human rights and justice.

Eligibility Criteria For Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship for Professional Women Journalist

To be eligible for the Journalism Fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must be women, nonbinary or gender, non-conforming journalists.
  • Possess at least three years of professional experience in journalism working in print, broadcast, or digital media.
  • Applicants must be proficient in written and verbal English.
  • Demonstrate excellent academic and research abilities.

How To Apply

Interested applicants for the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship 2022/23 are to complete their application on or before the application deadline as the late application will not be considered.

The Application Deadline is 15th April 2022 at 11:59 pm ET.
