The 2022 competition does not have a theme – poems can be on any subject that kindles your imagination, to a maximum line length of 40 lines for each poem.
The competition is open to international entries, entry is free and limited to one poem per individual. Poems must be written in the English language.

The Patricia Eschen Prize for Poetry is sponsored by the Dennis Myner Trust which supports Morrab Library in its charitable work, continuing the legacy of former member Dennis Myner who was devoted to our library. The name of this new poetry prize honours Dennis’ sister, Patricia Eschen.

How to enter
Poems can be submitted via email to [email protected] or posted to ‘Poetry Competition, Morrab Library, Morrab Gardens, Penzance, TR18 4DA’ or dropped off in-person to the Morrab Library.
If you are emailing your entry, your poem must be submitted in a Word document (.doc) or PDF (.pdf) file.
The competition closes for entries on Friday 30th September 2022 (23.59 GMT)
