The St. Gallen Symposium invites you to participate in the Global Essay Competition, a gateway to becoming a Leader of Tomorrow. This annual event, organized entirely by students, is set to take place from May 2 – 3, 2024, at the prestigious University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

The St. Gallen Symposium: A Platform for Cross-Generational Debates

The St. Gallen Symposium stands as the world’s leading initiative for cross-generational debates on economic, political, and social developments. This unique gathering is entirely run by students and provides a platform for over 600 world leaders to engage in discussions with the most brilliant young minds of our generation. The theme for this year’s symposium is “Confronting Scarcity,” a timely and crucial topic in today’s dynamic global landscape.

“Striving for more or thriving with less – What pressing scarcity do you see, and how do you suggest to tackle it?“

This question encourages participants to think critically about the scarcity issues prevailing in today’s world and propose innovative solutions. Essays are due by February 1, 2024.

Becoming a Leader of Tomorrow: Opportunities Await

The top 100 submissions to the Global Essay Competition will qualify as Leaders of Tomorrow. These outstanding individuals will receive an all-expenses-covered trip to Switzerland to participate in the St. Gallen Symposium. The conference provides a unique opportunity to engage with current senior leaders through panel discussions and various activities.

Over the years, the St. Gallen Symposium has hosted distinguished participants such as Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada; Muhammad Yunus, Nobel laureate and founder of the Grameen Bank; and Ayọ Tometi, founder of #BlackLivesMatter. This year, the Symposium promises an enriching experience under the theme “Confronting Scarcity.”
