2024 Canon Collins RMTF Scholarship
The Canon Collins RMTF Scholarships aim to empower outstanding individuals dedicated to promoting social justice in Africa, providing them with the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies that will equip them to build a more equitable and open society. Successful applicants will receive a grant of up to $16,500 for full or part-time Master’s or PhD studies, renewable for up to three years, contingent on satisfactory academic progress and reports.

Canon Collins Trust in partnership with Ros Moger and Terry Furlong group invites applications for postgraduate study in South Africa in 2024.
Ros and Terry were inspirational London educationalists. Since 2001 friends and family have raised funds in their memory to award scholarships in their name.
In 2024, the awards will only be to those studying in three areas:
- Justice, which includes Climate Justice, Law, Economics and Politics
- Education policy and practice
- Humanities, which includes Literature, History, Anthropology and the Arts
Please only apply if your programme of study falls into one of these disciplines.

- be a national of, or have refugee status in, one of the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Zambia
- be normally resident in one of the above countries
- be in possession of a good first degree (minimum second class, upper division or equivalent) or about to graduate in the year of application
- be studying or applying to study at a South African university

Scholarship Benefits
The value of the scholarship package will range from R20,000 to R100,000 depending on student circumstances. for both full and part-time study.
The Canon Collins Scholarship will provide funding for up to a maximum of two years for Master’s and three years for PhD.
Applications will also considered from those who wish to study by distance learning.
The Foundation will also organise an annual conference for current scholars, and hold several smaller events throughout the year.
Scholarship holders are expected to participate in these activities and to become part of and contribute to our network.
