APICA Summer Internship Program is to provide college students and recent graduates who are dedicated to public service a substantive, meaningful work and educational experience in the California State Legislature, with a goal towards creating and promoting a growing cohort of Capitol staffers and advocates.

Requirements for 2023 APICA Summer Internship Program:
- Current college student or recent graduate who is at least 21 years old at the time the internship begins.
- Available to work full-time for the duration of the 10-week internship program.
Duration and Reward
- Interns receive a stipend of $4,960 for the ten-week period. These funds will be provided twice a month, contingent on the successful completion of the program and its academic components.
- Week-long orientation, professional and skill development sessions, dedicated mentorship, and access to the APICA network of staff and elected officials

- The format must be 1-inch margins, Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, and must not exceed one page.
- Please proofread your statement, as grammatical or typographical errors will weaken your application
- Policy Interest Statement
- Prompt: Please discuss and demonstrate your passion for public policy and level of interest in eventually working as a staffer in the Capitol.
- The format must be 1-inch margins, Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, and must not exceed one page.
- Please proofread your statement, as grammatical or typographical errors will weaken your application.
- Resume, not to exceed one page.
- Official or unofficial transcript(s) from each college or university attended.
