In a bid to aid the development of the minds and characters of numerous undergraduates in Nigeria, the Alex Otti Foundation has been on the journey of building a virile Nigerian community through significant educational interventions, scholarship awards for undergraduate indigenes annually.

Alex Otti Foundation Tertiary Education Scholarship was launched to assist students or are natives or reside in Abia State of Nigeria with financial aid in pursuant of their educational goals. Which means, as long as you are a native of Abia State in Nigeria, or presently resides in the state, you are eligible to benefit from this programme.

On this note, interested candidates who will be able to maintain a CGPA of at least 3.5 (for universities students) or its equivalent, for those in other tertiary institutions every academic session are encouraged to apply and take advantage of this programme until graduation.

Eligibility for Alex Otti Foundation Tertiary Education Scholarship

You are eligible to apply for this scholarship if you meet the following criteria:

  • You must be currently in 2nd-year (200 Level) in any government-owned tertiary institution in Nigeria.
  • You must have had at least a CGPA of 3.5 – for universities (or its equivalent, for other tertiary institutions) in his/her first academic session (that is, First Year).

However, you are strictly advised not to apply if;

  • You are a sibling of any current Alex Otti Foundation scholar. You will only be eligible when your sibling’s current Scholarship runs its full course.

Additional Requirements

  • Interested candidates will be required to submit a statement of result for the first academic session (that is, First Year). The statement of result must be duly signed by the Department/Faculty’s Admin Officer (who rightfully is a representative of the registrar in the department or faculty).
  • Candidates will also be required to present a letter of recognition by their community/religious group leader or electricity utility bill of the last three months, to prove he/she currently resides in Abia State.
  • Candidates must submit a 1200-word essay, broken into three (3) parts telling us: (a) about their nuclear family, situating themselves within it; (b) a time they were part of a community, and their contributions to the community; and (c) what they think about giving back to the society.
  • Candidates must provide valid means of identification.
